In late March 2016, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) invited more than 100 applicants to participate in the Oncology Care Model (OCM). Invited practices are now negotiating contract specifics, analyzing their historical claims data and learning key model methodologies, and are expected to sign participation agreements in May 2016. CMS anticipates that the OCM project will start on July 1, 2016 and run through June 30, 2021.
Many practices have been reaching out to us to learn more about our patient engagement and treatment planning software solutions and how exactly our OCM solutions work. We realized many practices have more questions and are scrambling to kickstart their initiatives to meet the OCM requirements. We believe a public forum is a great vehicle for participating practices to learn from their peers and come together as an oncology community.
Carevive has invited hospital practice management expert Wes Chapman to participate in our first Twitter Chat event called #OCMChat: The Oncology Care Model Unplugged. The goal is to start conversations about processes, workflows, what innovative tools and resources are available, and connect peers to implement these complex changes to care delivery.
Join us on June 21st, 1PM EST and use the hashtag #OCMchat to join the conversation. The Twitter chat will last 1 hour and we’ll do our best to address all questions.
