A Novel Cancer Patient Experience Database
North Miami, Florida — May 28, 2020 — Carevive Systems, a leading oncology-focused health technology company, announced today that it has launched the Carevive Oncology Pragmatic Trials Investigator Network (Carevive OPT-IN®). This consortium of physician-researchers is collecting Patient Experience Data using Carevive’s digital platform in the following cancer types: lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and multiple myeloma.
Funded by a growing list of life science companies, Carevive OPT-IN® is a novel and unique real-world Patient Experience Database consisting of EHR-derived clinical data and longitudinal Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO). Together, this combination presents the most comprehensive picture of real-world symptoms of disease and treatment in cancer.
Madelyn Trupkin Herzfeld, Founder & CEO of Carevive commented, “We are proud to have launched what will be the largest real-world Patient Experience Database in cancer. Our data will be used by clinicians to improve the lives of cancer patients through remote symptom monitoring and better patient engagement, while providing a first-in-class set of data to our life science partners that will accelerate cancer therapy development and delivery.”
Life science companies can license these data to:
- Support drug development, commercial, and market access efforts with novel evidence and insights including how and when therapies are being used in the real-world setting, differences between trial results and real-world data as well as longitudinal patient experience
- Conduct bespoke research in collaboration with Carevive OPT-IN® sites and their patients
- Become Carevive design-partners in other cancer types
Over the next two years, Carevive will design and implement data collection for an additional 12 cancer types within an expanding set of Carevive OPT-IN® cancer centers.
“The ability to license these datasets today represents a critical advancement for life science companies who wish to incorporate Patient Experience data across their value chain” added Herzfeld. “Doing so will continue to inform them about the real-world cancer patient experience and positively impact patient care across the cancer landscape.”
